The Bad Panda Scion FR-S

WORDS FROM THE OWNER – IAN HART

The car was originally supposed to stay bone stock. That changed after my 91 Toyota MR2 was t-boned.

I didn’t know how I was going to compete in the SCCA autocross series. So I gave my car a shot in competition and that’s how it all started. Mods started off mild then got more and more serious. The panda theme was inspired by the manga and anima cartoon series called Initial-D. Main character Takumi Fujiwara drives and races a AE86 TOYOTA corolla better known as a Panda Trueno 86. I decided to make the same theme with a twist of my own. Since then it has gotten awards in various competitions between racing and shows.

Exterior:
  • Charge speed lip kit

Signature Car Collection Review

In A League of Their Own…

I can not tell you how many time’s I’ve heard the saying “Ohh It’s Just A Rental“. Has it ever occurred to people that even if it’s just a rental, that it’s still an Exotic. These “rentals” aren’t your typical Enterprise cars nor are they anywhere in the same ballpark price wise. If you are renting an Exotic it means that you have luxury to rent an exotic.  There are a few Exotic Car Rental Services out there but I have never seen any that compare to the professionalism of Signature Car Collection (Newark, New Jersey).

At a first glance from the outside it may not seem like much but as soon as you enter the building it is as though you have entered a garage fit for a king.

The Passion…

Just by walking into their establishment you feel like you are about to become a part of something special. When entering I had walked in through their repair facility which could easily be described as any auto-enthusiast dream garage. The First thing I saw when walking in was a lamborghini gallardo on a lift. I soon learned that they worked on their own cars and had people on staff who were certified Lamborghini and exotic technicians.

To me this was something I truly respected about SCC because it shows that they are not only  about business. Anyone can rent exotics to clients but for a business to be passionate and care about their cars enough to have an entire garage dedicated to repairing and maintaining their vehicles shows a lot and is highly respectable in my opinion in this industry.

More than just a Car Rental Company..

This is not your typical Car Rental Company. Signature Car Collection also does Track events multiple times a year. They bring their company cars and allow people to drive these super cars the way they are meant to be driven. Upcoming Track dates can be viewed on their website.

They also have a collection of old classic super rare cars in the section right next to where they keep their exotics. We were unable to get in but from what I was told it was also converted into a catering hall,. They also have a cigar lounge on the upper level.

Not much else to say…

If you have not used Signature Car Collection… It’s a no Brainer

Project #DoWorkSon Frs Feature

A lot of people who know who we are know that we find the craziest and most unique cars around and blow them up like crazy. You’ve seen our coverage on Martino Auto Concepts Art Ferrari and Lamborghini, The HighEnd Performance Rx7 Veilside, and of course the TeamSalamone Chrome Lamborghini Aventador. This feature is not an exotic but it will capture your attention more than most stock exotic cars. This car truly one of a kind and can not be replicated.

Introducing the #DoWorkSon FR-S build by Salik Zaki aka TeamEcr Sal. You may know Salik from his Scion XA that took home the first ever Pasmag Tuner Battlegrounds competition which was also featured at Sema of 2013. This time although staying in the Scion family moved to the FR-S model.  we asked him why he chose to go with the FR-S and this was his response:

I chose this car because my other show car is also a Scion and I love the ability to customize it however I wanted to build it up still be different. The FR-S to me blends the best of performance and looks, and I always wanted to bring an FR-S build to the table that is totally different than the others we’ve seen.

The stunning colors and arrangement of this paint job is truly indescribable. This build goes to show that no matter how many people own a car you can still make it different than anyone elses

I would like to take the time to adress this paint job. It is very rare that we see something this unique and special. If you do have the option to I would highly recommend that you click the image to enlarge it, so that you can take a closer look.

Personaly my favorite thing about this build is the paint. Not only is the color unique but the patterns seen that crosses through the gas tank cover and the rear wheel wells are truly something I have never seen done before, or at least applied to an automotive paint job. This to me really reinforces the idea that it doesn’t matter how many people have the same make, model and even parts that you have, you can still create a unique piece with the right inspiration.

The paint alone will grab your attention on this car.

Any sponsorship’s?

742 Marketing, NRG, Toyo Tires, Niche Road Wheels, McGard, R1 Concepts, Memphis Car Audio, PasswordJDM

What was your Inspiration for this theme?

My inspiration was to do something totally different. I’ve seen tons of other amazing builds using the wide body kits and such, but I wanted to bring something else to the table. I told my body and paint shop let’s go nuts and airbrush it.

What shops were involve in this build? Who did what?

FCR Inc (Weymouth, MA) is the paint and body shop that did all of the custom paint and body work. They also did my interior and engine bay. – HiEndCustoms (Malden, MA) is the audio shop that did all of the custom entertainment work in the trunk and interior.

Whats the Best Compliment / comment you’ve recieved about this build?

“That’s the coolest car I’ve ever seen, I want a car like that when I grow up” – a kid at the Staggered car show in Connecticut last weekend. It means a lot to me that the kids look up to me and my car builds.

Did everything go smooth? Any problems or bumps during build?

No problems, but nothing is ever going to come without bumps during the build. Mostly timing of shipments of parts but otherwise nothing major.

Did the end result come out as you imagined? Is there anything you would change?

It came out even better than I had planned. I wouldn’t change a thing!

Koenigsegg CCXRS is One of a kind

A lot of us have seen the Koenigsegg for the first time at the end of the Fast and Furious 5. Or maybe you just saw the new Need For Speed Movie and fell in love with the beauty and speed of the car portrayed in the film. Regardless of how you know of this car it is a well known fact that this car is a BADASS. Today we are taking a look at a one of a kind Koenigsegg.

To start off we are looking at a the only Koenigsegg in NYS. To the untrained eye it looks like a normal Koenigsegg CCXR. But after looking closer and asking a few questions about the car we learned that this car actually has the Interior and Motor of a Koenigsegg Agera R. The stock CCXR has about  1018 hp at 7.200 rpm and does 10-60 in about 3.2 Seconds. The Agera R  has 1140 Horsepower and  a 0-60 in about 2.9 seconds. This car hasn’t been put on a track yet so we don’t know the exact numbers this car would run but it definitely is a unique build being that it is the only CCXRS in the world. This car is so custom that Koenigsegg named the car model after the car owner ( the added S stands for the last name of the owner of the car).

The Koenigsegg is not the only car that the owner has in his exotic line-up. He also owns a Ferrari 458 Italia, a Ferrari F12, a Ferrari California, and a Aston Martin Vanquish .

This is the definition of any mans dream toy house.

He also owns the entire hanger that we shot the cars in, along with one of the Jets seen. The other Jets in the hanger belong to people that rent space in his hanger. He is currently trying to organize a car show on the jet strip located right outside.
